Don't let the name fool you, this jacket is GREAT for wearing around town in the winter, but I always pack it for skiing, belaying, and mountaineering. It's so warm and doesn't look too bulky at all. I am a huge fan of everything "puffy jacket" and this one has been my favorite out of all of them.
Why you ask? Well its super light and easy to pack, which is very important to me as I often carry pretty heavy loads in my backpack. Its also incredibly versatile, I can wear it out with jeans or skiing down a mountain. Its amazing to find a jacket that can be completely badass while also being good-looking.
I have a few things from this company which are all 4+ years old, and they all are still some of my most-used items that look about the same as the day I got them (minus a few duct-tape pieces on the down), I highly recommend checking them out!
I have this jacket in black, what they call 'tap shoe' but they also have it in Pagoda Blue, Cerise (pink!), and castlerock (grey). It costs $295 but currently is on sale at STIO for $147.50
HOW WARM IS WARM?
This 800-down jacket keeps me comfy in -10 degrees if I layer and 15-20 degrees F if I'm not layering.
